The Faculty of Dentistry aims to contribute to dental education in the country by graduating dentists who are capable of undertaking the provision of appropriate dental care at the best possible professional and ethical standards and share in the advancement of dental services in Sudan and the region and to be able to face the challenges of globalisation.
The faculty also fosters programmes of continuous professional development and undertakes research activities that will contribute to betterment of the Sudanese society’s dental welfare. A great deal of emphasis is placed on research, students centered learning and community visits to areas most in need of dental services as part of public responsibility. With the faculty being the second one established in the country, our graduates have found employment inside and outside Sudan, going on to have impressive performances. Our students found their way to international students’ conferences and IADR meetings with a competition winning performance. Such contributions are greatly encouraged at our university.

Our mission is to graduate dentists who are knowledgeable, highly skilled, competent, and of the highest professional and ethical standards who are to play a leading role by contributing to the national oral health program, services and conducting research in priority areas and able to be continuous learners.

The Faculty of Dentistry is located at the Academy Charity Teaching Hospital (ACTH), in Elimtidad, Khartoum among a heavily populated residential area which guarantees excellent catchments of patients for training of students and within reach of transport facilities from the centre of Khartoum.
The dental clinics
A total of 70 dental units are installed supported with the most advanced central suction and compressed air systems according to international specification and German manufacture. The units are allocated in various departments of the dental specialties with a ratio of two units per student well ahead of local and international ratio – at least at present- with a possibility of further additions.
The Dental Laboratories
These are of enough capacity and equipment for training of students and manufacturing of dental prosthetics.
